Hiya, I’m George – I’m a multi-instrumentalist & producer based in Folkestone, Kent specialising in folk, country/Americana, and indie rock. Anything from traditional fireside ballads to absolutely raucous stuff – always with sensitivity.
I’ve been producing privately for over 5 years now and recently decided to make the leap to professional production after having accumulated an unlawful collection of mics, software, and gear. I record from different studios around the region – which helps to factor in budgets, travel, and get the best out of each session – and then mix at home to keep costs affordable.
My debut album (recorded & mixed almost entirely in my bedroom) was chosen as one of the Best Albums of the Year in 2024 by BBC Introducing Kent’s Abbie McCarthy, and nearly everything I’ve produced for other people has received airplay on regional BBC Introducing shows across the country.
How we work
My approach to recording is primarily collaborative: it’s not an in-and-out job – I’m here to help you achieve your vision. That means being a gentle guide & fresh pair of ears when needed but, most importantly, ensuring we get it right at the source and keep it right throughout.
I love capturing the raw energy of great performances and polishing that bottled magic to sound as good as possible without having to spend a fortune, so I’ll often vouch for foregoing click tracks and get whole bands playing together or try to get completely live takes with a singer-songwriter – if you can nail the song live, then something’s often lost when you rigidify the recording with a click. But this is, of course, dependent on the song’s needs!
What’s more, I’m adding my creative touches throughout, but it’s always your music so, fundamentally, if you’re not happy then I’m not happy.
Helping you flesh your music out
Sometimes, the production requirements to take a recording from great to hawt-daaaamn can be as simple as adding a couple of shakers or some backing vocals. But, when needed, I can also help bring your songs to life through adding guitars, bass/double bass, keys, drums, and string/orchestral arrangements.
